But now a days there are tons of iit jee test series are available some paid and some free. Big brand test series are also there and most jee student join at least one test series. Now we will talk about test and its benefits and losses.

The main points under the talk are

Whether to join a iit jee test series or not?

What are the benefits of test series?

When to join a test series?

What about daily test or daily practice problems?

Before answering all above let me list all of aims of iit jee test series.

To test Knowledge

To test speed

To test talent

To test accuracy

To build exam hall confidence

Predict relative ranking

Almost every test series for iit jee claims these benefits. But is it really true? Let us examine it first before I answer all that questions.

Almost all test series I found have more or less puzzling and having out of syllabus or out of pattern questions. This is because every institute wants to show that it has great knowledge and resources. These competition kills basic aim in most test series in the market.

Speed test has no meaning when problems are puzzling and taking more than appropriate time.

Talent is born and cannot be improved or tested by such tests. In fact most students try to test themselves by tests. It is a wrong notion that if he is talented he will solve more problems. IIT JEE problem solving all it take knowledge presence of mind and experience with problems. By joining test series or doing problem before learning some or little is as dangerous as to jump in water without learning swimming.

Yes Accuracy can be check by tests of test series. But the question is that when you are solve unrelated problems then how can you get correct result of accuracy.

After doing test series problems exam hall confidence is attained and it is a good thing but this can be in a better way, As if you do it yourself at home you can get better exam hall confidence.

No one can predict a rank correctly as JEE mains topper with 100% marks is not in top list of jee advance. Rank all it depends on many factors. Rank improves continuously as knowledge and skill grows. Focus on skills and knowledge not on predicted rank.

After all above facts we will not advice to join a iit jee test series. No benefit can be drawn from time and money invested on test series.

Yes daily appropriate questions based tests can be best for along with video lectures for iit jee.

He searches around and finds many ways like listed here.

Class room coaching

Private tuitions for Schools

Online coaching for iit jee

E learning courses for jee mains like video lecturers

The main question is not joining any course but is that how to start iit jee preparation. Here I have solved this for students. Basically IIT JEE preparation means to start learning physics mathematics and chemistry for schools as well for competitions.

Since class 11th physics requires sound knowledge of calculus, coordinate geometry, vectors, algebra and almost all maths of senior classes. We recommend starting with maths only even not a single chapter of chemistry or physics. The idea behind this approach is to avoid hurdle of maths in understanding of physics. Similarly chemistry is started with physical chemistry and that also needs a lot physics concepts.

So we start with maths only. Now we will focus the parts of maths which we should learn first. Obliviously class 11th maths will be done first then class 12 maths and details are given below.

Do algebra first that is in 11th class (M1 part of course) and then do class 12th portions. Then in the last do M3. In M3 Do Vector and 3d only if you are in class 10th or 11th. After this maths start Mechanics in iit jee physics and then physics part 2.In last do only one chapter of P3 that is Electrostatics Part 1. Just need to do theory only if you are in 10th or 11th class. If you are in class 12th do iit jee physics for as you wish. But all above needs to do as stated.

After physics parts P1, P2 and electrostatics do Physical Chemistry. Do Atomic Structure Periodicity and Bonding First then other Physical Chemistry Chapters. After this do inorganic and last organic chemistry.

In Maths Start Algebra and then trigonometry then coordinate geometry. In algebra do like this Quadratic equation and then AP GP and exponent log series then Permutation and Complex numbers etc. Algebra, Trigonometry, 2D Geometry, first theory then EEE level problems then JEE Past papers. Repeat theory if not cleared in once.

As soon maths is done you feel physics study much easier. Learning jee physics will be a lot faster and better than before, and you will not only catch up other students but will go far beyond than them. Learning maths and physics before the chemistry will make jee chemistry very simple. As it is very small in syllabus and have small and easy topics you will finish it in a fortnight or two.

For more help regarding iit jee preparations.

One such chapter is integration. This chapter is an advanced mathematics concept and has a vast array of utilization. For example, integration is used in finding the area of a n irregular figure and it is even used in physics to calculate approximations.

If you are preparing for IIT JEE maths integration holds great importance in your exam preparations. Therefore, we have created a special JEE maths integration video lectures series to cover each and every concept within the topic of integration. JEE integration lectures are created keeping in mind the past questions that have appeared in the IIT JEE mains. This ensures that the student who has gone through the IITJEE maths integration video lectures does not face any difficulty in understanding any concept of integration. It also ensures that students who undergo JEE main maths integration lectures are able to solve integration question in JEE maths exam with full confidence.

Integration has a lot of formulae and understanding each one of them can be a monotonous and time consuming job. This can eventually make learning a challenge for the students. Finally, overall experience of learning integration is boring and end result is no fruitful learning at all. To avoid this, one must go through IIT JEE maths integration videos. They are interesting and focus on learning.

The approach followed in the JEE maths integration lectures is that of learning rather than that of cramming. Due to this, students learn to solve integration questions on their own without the need of asking anyone for help every now and then. These lectures also include a huge number of questions of different types. One thing that is important to understand is to ensure that any course on integration you go through should contain a good number of questions so that you get enough practice. The success to solve any integration question is through practice. It is important that you know each and every kind of question that can come in the examination. Only with practice you will be able to solve the integration questions. We know this and therefore the IIT JEE maths integration video lectures that we have made incorporate different kinds of integration questions and the right approach towards solving them. No matter whether you are starting with this unit or going for revision, indulging in IIT JEE maths integration lectures will definitely help you.

Also, Integral calculus iit jee is not only important from maths point of view; it is important from physics and at large, engineering point of view. When a chapter is so important, it is recommended to go through IIT JEE maths videos, especially on calculus to prepare well for the entrance examination.

It has been observed that differential calculus based questions that are put in JEE are overwhelming. In fact, over the years, the number of calculus based problems appearing in JEE question paper has been increasing. Not only has the number of questions increased, the complexity of the questions has also increased. This means that you should take only those IIT JEE maths lectures on calculus that are up to date and cover the latest questions. Another important thing to notice when preparing for calculus is to understand the structure, also the nature of the question. Without this, a student will not be able to solve the question. By structure and nature, we mean the kind and the intent of the question.

Honestly, calculus is easier said than done. It requires a lot of practice. Even the brightest student sometimes fails to understand the problem. They eventually proceed with the wrong approach. IIT JEE maths lectures on calculus help a student understand the right approach to the question. These video lectures also help the student to learn the right way of solving different types of calculus based questions. That was asked in IIT JEE entrance examination.

The latest integral calculus questions that have appeared in the JEE are based on statements rather than simple numbers. Also, these questions often employee more than one methodology to obtain the right answer. Sometimes the problem presented is very complicated. That student has to mix concepts other than integral calculus to find the right answer. This is where IIT JEE maths videos on calculus become even more important. These kinds of questions, if not already seen and solved can give you a headache during the examination. This is only going to de motivate you and then lead to a poor performance. This must be avoided at any cost and hence preparing for calculus are here. Going through online video lectures as per IIT JEE question paper standards is important, as well as recommended.

The maths videos on differential calculus that have been designed and created by us are based on the latest IIT JEE pattern. These video lectures are totally as per the high standards of the IIT JEE. Therefore, these video lectures can help you understand all the different types of calculus questions that JEE can ask. Since these video lectures have been prepared by the best faculty, you do not have to worry about the quality of content. All the methods and all the techniques are presented in great detail and in top notch quality. The IIT JEE maths videos on calculus will also give you confidence and teach you the technique to solve the hardest of questions.

Moving a little ahead of the number system and the complex multiplications and divisions, there is a vast space filled with points and lines waiting to give you a headache and sleepless nights.

The number system was fine. It had simple math operations and involved a little thinking. But all of that had been a part of the syllabus right from the beginning of school. However, things are now a little more complex and the situation is now complicated. There is a whole new concept to learn. The point and the coordinate system is definitely the next level. Remember how you drew circles and lines in your middle school? That was the part of geometry. Now, things are going to be a little more over the top. Now you will not be given lengths and radius to draw simple figures. Now, you will be given points and coordinates and asked to find distance, derive formulae and even find areas and volumes. This is what coordinate geometry is all about.

If the above two paragraphs frightened you, the next few paragraphs will give you the strength and the solution. Yes, coordinate geometry is hard to learn and connect; but with proper training and enough practice, it can be sorted out and understood easily. In case you are preparing for IIT JEE, this chapter is even more important for you. The best way to earn is through IIT JEE maths lectures on coordinate geometry. These JEE maths videos on coordinate geometry have everything you need to learn and know about the chapter. They not only cover the main topic of the chapter like lines and planes, pairs of straight lines and all but they also cover the advanced topics like parabola and ellipse.

For some reason, many IIT JEE maths lectures on coordinate geometry fail to cover a few hard topics like hyperbola and conic sections. These topics can be the game changer for you and hence you need IIT JEE maths lectures on coordinate geometry that cover these hard to solve chapters too. These two topics have been repeated several times in the JEE over the last few years. Therefore, it would be totally foolish to skip these topics. Also, make sure that you only go through the course that covers everything from straight lines to the hardest question of hyperbola.

More than just covering a topic, you need a course that can explain the working of methods. The lectures that can explain all the formulae and stuff related to the easy as well as hard topics are the IIT JEE maths lectures on coordinate geometry that you should be buying and following. Buying something incomplete and repenting later on will only ruin your JEE examination and on top of it, spoil your career too.

While preparing for IIT JEE, physics is one subject that most of the students. They face difficulty in but with proper modern physics video lectures for IIT JEE, learning and understanding the complex terminology of physics can be grasped easily. Physics lectures are usually long and boring, and due to this fact, students lose interest in the subject and fail to make an impression during the examination. This is why it is important to ensure that modern physics video lectures for IIT JEE are kept straightforward.
Apart from being informative, video lectures also keep the students busy by keeping their sense of sight as well as hearing in use. This makes sure that students stick to the video lectures and finish them without failing. If the students skip a topic or find something NOT interesting enough, it might be due to the fact that coaching or training that they are following is not upto the mark. Who is to be blamed in such a scenario?
Modern physics lectures for IIT JEE are specially designed keeping in mind the high requirements of a student. Student who is going to appear for IIT JEE. These candidates need more than usual physics lessons. Because of the nature of examination that they are going to appear it important. Now if the video lectures are not created to explain all the topics needed. That intended to be covered in the IIT JEE, students will feel lost during the examination. They may eventually end up performing poorly. Another important reason to ensure that the students get the best modern physics video for IIT JEE is due to the these facts. Many teachers who create study material. They tend to promote cramming among the students which, apart from being a bad teaching practice, does little to no good to the students. The efficient modern physics video lectures for IIT JEE need to be promote. It needed to build a ‘learning’ attitude in the students. In the long run, this is a studying habit that students will need the most. Therefore, it is important that any video training that students undertake follows and trains them well. Cramming might help you solve a few numerical. But in case the JEE question paper goes a little above and beyond the contents of the training, you will have no clue. What and how you should approach that question.

The hopes to get an admission in IITs are so high that anything less is considered just a compromise. A good rank is required in IIT entrance exam to secure an admission in IITs. Securing a good rank in IIT-JEE is a cherished dream of not just the lakhs of aspirants who appear for the exam each year, rather a familial affair for every single one of them. Results of IIT-JEE are one the most awaited entrance exam results in India.

With these facts established, one must wonder where really am I getting at. The question of concern here is: are you actually prepared in the real sense to take head-on this competition? The intention here is not to intimidate or imply that a near-impossible task lies ahead, but rather that it can be done. The first and foremost is to tell oneself that you can do it, so have the winning attitude. Follow up the winning attitude with hard work and dedication. To achieve a good rank in the result of IIT-JEE you must plan your preparation for IIT-JEE at least one year in advance, most students start the preparation after class 10th to cover the syllabus and to leverage their chances of scoring high in IIT-JEE results, a few even join foundation programs of IIT coaching institutes. You must realize that IIT entrance exam tests the students’ understanding of the fundamental concepts and application of those concepts to problems, unlike most other entrance exams. Guidance from teachers or students who were successful in IIT-JEE in the past will be very helpful, but you must understand that each student has different aptitude and strengths, so what works for others may not necessarily work for you.

Everything in the perfect proportion and voila, success is what you have!

Getting selected for an IIT, the most sought after institute in our country for engineering studies is certainly not a cake-walk, and please remember that joining IIT classes in a coaching center does not guarantee success. As much as the students want to get a good rank in the result of IIT-JEE, IITs also want to let only the most refined and bright ones in. This explains the high standard of the entrance exam, and the herculean task for the students to get through.

IIT coaching institutes are the ones cashing in on this craze.

•Cracking IIT entrance exam means getting a good rank in results of IIT-JEE and it undoubtedly requires understanding of the complete depth and breadth of the concepts of each topic included in the course, so cramming the formulas and the methods and procedures to a few problems will never do the bit. A detailed and planned approach is needed for good IIT-JEE result. One needs to have solid fundamental knowledge or understanding of the concepts or “fundas” as the IIT-aspirants like to call it.

•To achieve a good position in IIT-JEE results, speed and accuracy both are required. With just speed, you are bound to make silly mistakes. However with just accuracy and no speed, you would never be able to finish the exam on time. So it is important to realize that one must balance speed with accuracy.

•Take IIT-JEE mock tests regularly. If you are enrolled in any IIT coaching institute then you will get mock tests from them as well. This will give you the opportunity to grade yourself periodically and allow you to understand your areas of strength and weakness from the results of IIT-JEE mock tests. You can prepare your own mock tests, but remember to create a complete simulation of the process (which means no distractions like phone calls etc.) otherwise the self-devised tests would be a waste of time and energy. You should take the mock tests from every topic of the syllabus.

•It is important to learn from the mistakes made in mock tests and tailor the future preparation based on the learning from the tests. This will ensure that you are well-prepared for the final entrance exam.

•Selective study is not an option for entrance exams like IIT-JEE. Each topic of study must be thoroughly studied to get a commendable IIT-JEE score. One seemingly unimportant topic might be the foundation of the most important one, and as stated previously, conceptual knowledge is the key. However smartly analyze the amount of time that should be devoted to each chapter. Don’t waste a lot of time on a less important topic. Follow the trends for questions from previous years’ entrance exams and find out the level of importance each chapter holds. Devote time to the concepts accordingly.

•Some other strategies might also be devised. A few concepts are such that not much variety in framing the questions is possible. However the problems for some other topics can be framed in numerous ways. If there is a lot of time in hand, then one must devote more time to understand the methods of solving the different problems of such topics compared to practicing similar problems of a topic one is confident about.

•However, during the last days of exam, devote more time to the topics that you know well instead of trying to understand completely new concepts and try to revise from every topic of the entrance exam syllabus. This will boost your confidence of the topics you understand well and you can score good marks from them. Please don’t indulge in revising from material given by IIT coaching institutes as majority of them are not even worth the paper they are printed on.

•Try to divide the problems depending on their difficulty level, assign different amount of allowed time for each level, and while practicing try to solve the problems in stipulated time.

•Don’t be lured by the fancy advertisements of different IIT coaching institutes. Majority of the IIT-JEE coaching institutes are involved in buying “topper ranks” to display in advertisements to attract new students. Parents and students must avoid such traps. Past years success of a particular institute is no guarantee for future success either.

•Concentrate on your school curriculum as well, because the topics required for engineering entrance exams are the same as covered in senior secondary boards. If the fundamentals are clear from school lectures itself, the effort required for IIT-JEE can be greatly reduced.

•Never let failure discourage you in any way. Learn from your mistakes rather than sitting and brooding over it. A few setbacks are normal; time won’t stop for you to get back on track, so don’t let failure stop you either. Keep moving forward towards your goal.

•Study to gain real knowledge, not just for the sake of finishing the chapter. Finishing a topic just as a formality would get you nowhere while preparing for the entrance exams as it would provide no value addition.

•There is a popular myth that if one has to excel at an engineering entrance exam, they must study at least 8-12 hours per day. Due to this belief, students are under an enormous amount of pressure from their parents, their schools and their IIT coaching centers. Everything in their lives other than studies comes to a standstill. This is not the right approach. One must take time out for other activities as well. Today smart-work more than hard-work bears the fruit. The results of IIT-JEE in past years reflect that the students who really excel are the ones who did not engross themselves completely into studies and their IIT classes, rather took time out for their hobbies as well.

•A well-planned schedule and a determination to stick to it are the real factors for success. Consistency is the virtue that will guarantee success.

•Take it for granted that the questions appearing in IIT-JEE entrance exam would have an element of surprise in it. The concepts behind the question may be the simplest ones, but never expect a straight-forward question. Sometimes in IIT entrance a single question may be prepared involving multiple topics of the syllabus and to solve them one must have fundamental understanding of the underlying topics. The trick to excel is training your-self to read between the lines. The solution part is generally very easy if the question is understood properly. Practice question papers from previous years’ IIT entrance exams as they would give you a proper idea about IIT-JEE pattern. IIT coaching institutes generally teach various tips and tricks for questions.

•While trying to solve a problem in maths/physics/chemistry during practice, make sure that you have tried to the best of your capability to solve it your-self before referring to the solution.

Re-read the question again and again if that is what it takes to understand it.
Try conventional methods for a solution before resorting to the short-cut tips and tricks. It would help you understand the concept better.
Refer to the chapter’s concepts again and again to figure out all the possible ways in which they can be applied to reach a solution.
If you had to refer to the solution, then make sure to practice similar problems till you master the concept.
Think of the problem as an algorithm with which you need to proceed step by step without worrying about the next step. Once you have mastered the algorithm by continuous practice, you can skip the unnecessary steps to be quick.
•Any entrance exam paper is divided into difficulty levels. Some questions are easy, most are average and some are very tough. The students who excel are the ones who can do well in all the easy and average ones and a few very difficult ones to differentiate themselves from the majority. Divide your preparation into a similar process.

•Most top rank holders of the IIT-JEE are known to devise their own short-cuts for specific kinds of problems apart from the ones they may have learnt from IIT coaching centers. This can be achieved only with a detailed understanding of the “fundas”. Because the short-cuts are one’s own derivations, it is known to the person exactly where and how they can be applied.

The above stated are a few factors that would ensure if nothing else, a head-start to success in IIT-JEE and other engineering entrance examinations.

Video tutorials: The new technology in IIT coaching industry

Past few years have witnessed enormous amounts of technological advancements in IIT JEE coaching sector through the advent of video streaming and other online preparation techniques. It allows students residing in remote locations access to the same quality of IIT JEE coaching and study material as is available to their counterparts attending traditional brick and mortar training institutes.

In fact, online IIT coaching has some added advantages over the traditional mode of teaching and learning. Here they are:

A ‘moving’ picture speaks more than words: First and foremost let us agree on a pure fact: An individual learns faster, and his retention rate is more if his audio and visual senses are enticed. This is the foundation of the emergence of video lectures for online IITJEE coaching.

These videos use attractive animation and easy language that has uncomplicated the process of understanding complex Maths, Physics and Chemistry concepts.

•Time-wastage is avoided, as you don’t have to travel to a traditional IIT coaching institute: In addition, it is a convenient method as it doesn’t require physically attending the classes (if full-time online IIT JEE coaching is being made use of), thus a lot of valuable time is saved.
IIT coaching

•Learn at your own pace: Online IITJEE coaching allows the students to proceed at their own pace in understanding the concepts. Each person’s fundamental concepts are at different levels of clarity, so some students require less concentration on a particular topic and may need to devote more time on some other topic.

Classroom lectures cannot be customized to achieve this because one lecturer has to finish a topic in a particular time-frame and he cannot give more attention to one student at the expense of others’ time. Video lectures on the other hand give the opportunity to the students to go through the study material at their own pace. They can replay it any number of times, till they are totally confident about a particular topic. Revision for entrance or board exams is also easy this way.

•Easy to revisit old concepts while practicing problems: In case a student is studying an advanced topic with the help of video lectures and wants to revise the underlying concepts, he can do it easily using archived lectures. For instance, while listening to a Fluid Dynamics lecture if the student encounters some problem with a basic concept like Density or Pressure, then he/she can brush up his/her understanding just by listening to another lecture dealing with Density.

The tedious process of using traditional JEE preparation books or study material for revision in such circumstances can thus be avoided.

•Great self-study technique for students: Sometimes contingencies might cause a student enrolled in a traditional IIT coaching institute to miss a lecture. The lecturer cannot repeat the whole topic just for the benefit of one student, because they have their own deadlines to meet.

Video lectures can help the student a great deal in undertaking self-studies for that particular topic.

•Discussions with teachers and fellow-students: One notable advantage of using online IITJEE coaching is that one can engage in discussions with other students like themselves through interactive forums.

You can clarify your doubts by interacting with students just like you, who can understand your problem better. This is in addition to all the online help you can get from experts with deep-rooted knowledge of all the three subjects (Maths, Physics and Chemistry).

•Minimal Fees compared to expensive IIT coaching institutes: Traditional IIT Coaching generally costs a fortune. So once the fee is paid for good, i.e. after the trial period is over, there is no backing-out. But what options are available to a student if he/she cannot understand the teaching method of a particular lecturer or a particular topic?

Video lectures and online IIT JEE coaching would definitely rescue the student from such situations. In addition to paid access to all the video classes for the three subjects, limited free access is also generally available for select topics which can be availed by the students.

Despite all the advantages of this novel tech-savvy concept of imparting IIT coaching, web-based teaching is still at a nascent stage in India. Traditional method of preparation is still the most widely used and accepted one for learning. However the convenience provided by online IIT coaching and video lectures has ensured that more and more students are turning to it for self-studies or as an add-on to traditional classes.

Anyone willing to learn would want to take advantage of this easily accessible mode. Online coaching has thus made a place for itself in this otherwise overcrowded and saturated domain, and is definitely here to stay.

How to plan and manage time effectively for JEE preparation?

Time-management for JEE preparation :
Don’t spend your time, invest it. Manage time properly to crack JEE 2017

The greatest advantage of good time management practice for almost every conceivable thing is the freedom to avoid last-minute nervous-breakdowns, time-crunches etc. It gives confidence to the students preparing for JEE and other entrance exams as it ultimately gives them enough time for a detailed revision as well. And we know that with confidence comes optimism and thus enhanced performance in entrance exams. A well-planned approach towards time management right from the beginning would ensure that the preparation is complete and no last minute short cut techniques like selective studies are used to cover the IIT syllabus. In short, control what you do with your time. Don’t let the time control your moves.

Steps for time management

First and foremost maintain a proper planner. This should include the dates of all the tests that you are aiming at in addition to your board exams schedule (when declared). Come 2013, there might be just one common entrance test for engineering colleges. Still this step is important as you would need to plan for boards, internal tests and other exams that you wish to appear for in addition to JEE. In addition the planner must have the details of all the different mock tests that you have to appear for etc. and also the time-table of your preparation. Additionally list the complete IIT syllabus for assistance in goal-setting. (Long term plans)

Plan out your daily activities based on their importance level. Set your priorities straight: Finish the most important tasks first. (Short-term plans). This would ensure that you are right in the direction towards entrance exam preparation. For instance, look at a sample planner in the image here. Here one would need to finish the most urgent and important tasks first like preparing for a test scheduled on the next day. Then move on to the important, but not urgent tasks like practicing Maths for JEE. Remember that the ‘not important’ tasks can wait, you can take care of them while you are taking a break.
Identify your times of highs and lows. Some people are energetic in the morning hours whereas some people work the best at night.
Normally difficult activities must be handled first. Addressing most dreaded problems at that time of the day when one is energetic and fresh would increase the chance of success in entrance exams. Consequently one would feel motivated to work towards simpler goals after handling more complicated ones. Example: If Chemistry is your strength and the mention of Mathematics scares you, then you might want to practice Maths problems right in the morning and Chemistry at the end of the day, if you are a morning person.
cluttered desk
Keep your workplace organized. Students preparing for entrance exams often live and sleep on their books and notes. In experts’ opinions an uncluttered place of study generally ensures a clearer mind. Document your notes in a proper order. It would save your time by making it easy for you to find the notes as and when you require it.
Try to phase out as many unproductive tasks from your daily schedule as possible over time.
Avoid procrastination: Most of the students continue postponing their plans of studying seriously for ‘Tomorrow’, whereas the fact of the matter is that without a strong resolve and determination this plan would never really materialize.
Give up the habit of saying later for everything:

One very practical reason for such an attitude of students is unrealistic goal setting. They end up resolving that they’ll finish the whole IIT syllabus in a very limited time along with a host of other activities and when they fail to do so, become disheartened and thus discouraged and can’t even finish half the IIT study material
Set short-term, more realistic goals for yourself during entrance exam preparation. Seeing yourself achieve them would act as an encouragement, and make you more positive.
Always remember to divide the task into smaller parts to keep it from becoming overwhelming. Don’t aim at finishing all your IIT study material in one go, rather be realistic and take baby steps by dividing the IIT syllabus into smaller sections.
As the proverb states: ‘The first step is always the hardest.’ Find the courage and motivation to take the first leap, the rest would automatically follow.
Whenever you get stuck with a problem, make note of it then and there, and refer to your IIT study material, online video lectures or take your lecturers’ help as soon as possible, so that you can take care of the confusion well in time and proceed further. Don’t wait until the last moment to clarify your doubts.
Divide your time properly between then three subjects; Physics, Maths and Chemistry. Concentrating on your weak points might be a very good idea. A subject-wise and topic-wise time schedule might work wonders. In short, draft a time-table for yourself, but more importantly stick with it. Example of such a time schedule would be: 6:00-7:00am Physics (Vectors-Theory), 7:00-8:00am Organic Chemistry: Hydrocarbons (Chemical Equations)
While studying for IIT-JEE the better option is to study all the three subjects simultaneously instead of wrestling with a subject for a few days, abandoning it to study the other two, and resuming it again after a few days. The reason being: Simultaneously studying the three subjects ensures that the IIT syllabi for all the three proceeds at a reasonable pace, and time that would have otherwise been lost in revising a subject each time one picks it up after a break can be saved.
Note down the points to remember, concepts and short-cuts for each topic in a summarized form. This would help during last minute recapitulation just before the entrance exams.
Avoid overreactions and anxiety: No matter how well you plan out your each move, there will always be contingencies that might alter your planned course of action. Make sure not to let these hurdles impact you in anyway. The secret is to avoid overreacting and to keep your cool.
Get updated syllabus: Before starting your preparation for engineering entrance tests make sure to get the updated IIT syllabus from either IIT’s website or some other reliable source.
Reward yourself for each achieved goal and each met deadline. This would act as an excellent motivator and would give you something to look forward to. Each time you meet your goal, go catch your favorite movie.
Take breaks: Very importantly, don’t forget to include in your schedule the time to socialize, engaging in your hobbies etc. to keep your mind refreshed. Take short breaks between your periods of study to rejuvenate yourself.
Time management during the Exam is also very important

In order to prepare yourself completely for entrance exams, don’t use calculators while practicing numerical problems. Some Senior Secondary Boards like ISC allow the use of calculators board exams, so students are in a habit of using the same, however to crack IIT or some other engineering entrances one must be quick with mental calculations. This can be achieved only by continuous practice.
While practicing from IIT-JEE study material or practice papers for any of the engineering entrances, make sure to develop the habit of dividing time properly between different sections, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Aptitude, depending upon your hold on the subjects. This would ensure that during the actual entrance exam you manage to do justice to all the subjects.
While writing the engineering entrance test don’t lose your composure. Move on to the next problem if you are unable to understand a question or are nowhere close to the end after your self-allotted time for the particular problem is over. There is always the option of coming back to the problem later instead of losing time on it initially.
Attempt easier problems carrying more marks first as the rule of thumb. This would give you a good kick-start and boost your confidence.
Sometimes the answer can be arrived at just by eliminating the improbable options. Using this method at appropriate places can pace you up.
Time if managed properly for entrance exam preparation can thus act as the competitive advantage against one’s fellow IIT aspirants.

Get started with IIT JEE 2017

IIT JEE 2017 is months away and these last few months before the examination is extremely crucial. Assuming that you began you preparations in class XI, the next few months should be spent thoroughly revising the syllabus and solving as many different types of questions as you can.

About IIT JEE:

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. It is the first paper in the two part exam process for admission in the IITs, NITs, and other centrally and state-funded technical institutions. The top 150,000 pupils who clear JEE Main will be eligible to take JEE Advanced, for admission to the prestigious IITs across the country.

IIT JEE (Main) – The first hurdle

For aspiring IIT candidates, the first hurdle on the way is IIT JEE (Main). It is a highly competitive exam where students are given ranks, based on their performance in the examination. The level of questions is high and rather difficult, in comparison to usual class XII board examinations. It requires at least a year’s preparation, if not more and a lot of dedication from the student.

Students are expected to not only have a vast and clear understanding of theoretical knowledge of all the topics, but to also know how to apply that knowledge to specific problems. Thus, speed is the key when it comes to IIT JEE. If you are thorough with all the concepts, elimination of the incorrect choices will become a lot simpler, enabling you to give more time to difficult questions.

When to start

Ideally, you should have started preparing for IIT JEE 2017, in October or November 2015. For those who will be appearing in 2015, start once you have completed nearly 50 percent of your class XI syllabus. Give adequate time to all three subjects, that is, physics, chemistry and maths. In the later stages, give more time to your weaker areas.

It is advisable to study regularly to avoid overburdening of work later. With a disciplined study timetable and regular hard work, IIT JEE 2014 won’t be such a hard nut to crack.
